We are seeking a talented Architectural Designer to join our creative team and contribute to our success. This is an in-house position located in Lloydminster, AB We currently do not have a remote work option/opportunity.

Job Description

As an Architectural Designer for Nelson Homes, you will play a crucial role in conceptualization, development, and execution of architectural designs. You will work closely with our team of architects, engineers, and clients to create designs that meet both functional and aesthetic criteria. Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Produce technical and accurate architectural drawings for single and multi-family residential units that reflect applicable Building Codes and National Energy Codes.
  • Collaborate with sales and project team to develop detailed plans, drawings and specifications.
  • Generate and present design concepts through sketches, 2D and 3D models and renderings.
  • Manage and maintain the Nelson Homes Standard Plans
  • Keep up-to-date with industry standards and best practices to inform your design decisions.
  • Conducting site visits, surveys and client meetings to assess existing project conditions.
  • Contributing to sustainable and environmentally friendly design solutions.
  • Assist in project management task as needed.

Qualifications

  • Years of experience in architectural design.
  • Proficiency in SoftPlan, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit and Adobe Creative Suites.
  • Strong knowledge of the National and Alberta Building Codes including the National Energy Code. A working knowledge of other building codes will be an asset.
  • Proficient in producing accurate and detailed drawing.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Valid drivers license with a clean abstract.
