Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced BOOM TRUCK / CRANE OPERATOR (CLASS 1 OR 3) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating boom trucks and cranes to lift, move, position, and place heavy loads safely and efficiently on construction sites. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety protocols. Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Operate boom trucks and cranes according to safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
  • Inspect equipment before and after each use to ensure proper functioning and identify any defects or maintenance needs.
  • Safely lift and position heavy materials and equipment on construction sites, following precise instructions from supervisors or signalers.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate lifts and ensure the safety of personnel and property.
  • Always adhere to established safety procedures and protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections, maintenance activities, and work performed.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance job performance and safety awareness.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid certification as a Boom Truck Operator or Crane Operator.
  • Valid Class 1 or 3 drivers license with a clean drivers abstract.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating boom trucks and/or cranes in a construction or industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices for crane operations.
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions accurately.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
