Division Accountant
Division Accountant – Nelson Homes (Lloydminster)
Full-Time | Nelson Homes, a Division of Nelson Lumber Company Ltd.
Nelson Homes, a proud division of Nelson Lumber Company Ltd., is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Division Accountant. This full-time position is based in Lloydminster and reports directly to the Operations Manager, while working closely with our Corporate Accounting team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile daily sales reports and ensure accuracy in pricing on all intercompany transactions.
- Process customer invoicing and payments; apply payments to the correct accounts.
- Review vendor invoices and employee expense reports to confirm appropriate coding.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including WIP, accruals, and reallocations.
- Perform monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts.
- Analyze financial statements for accurate sales, margins, and expense classifications.
- Compile year-end working papers for auditors.
- Support and maintain internal financial processes and controls.
- Set up, approve, and invoice jobs related to sales.
- Maintain corporate spreadsheets and documentation related to U.S. packages (including exchange rates and customs paperwork).
- Other related duties as required.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with AIMS or Bistrack (A/R, A/P, Inventory, General Ledger) is a strong asset.
- Solid understanding of full-cycle accounting.
- Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and communicate effectively across departments.
- Familiarity with audits, budgeting processes, and financial reporting (income statement & balance sheet).
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset to support Operations and General Management.
- Strong decision-making abilities and analytical thinking.
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Team-oriented with excellent communication and time-management skills.
Compensation:
Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience, and will be finalized upon selection of the successful applicant.
